Specialty Molds!

If you wish to cast your finished product in a self hardening material, Silicone is usually a good choice.  Depending on your casting material, the advantages to a silicone mold are that high relief detail and undercuts can be sculpted into the original piece, giving it the illusion of more depth over a conventional ceramic piece.  Since the silicone flexes and bends, it can pull out of deep crevices and details.  Also, silicone has internal properties that, in most cases, does not require the use of a release agent.

Our silicone molds usually have a resin mother mold around them, to hold the silicone to its original shape, which minimizes distortion.  If cost is a consideration, a less expensive mother mold can be used, such as Hydrocal or plaster.   Contact us for a free consultation of your individual project needs.
