Committees & Services

Pastoral Council is a group of parishioners who meet monthly with the Rector to plan events for the parish community in order to meet the spiritual and social needs of the community. They assist in establishing long term vision to meet the needs of the parishioners and the church.

Finance Council is responsible to evaluate, assist, and maintain the financial needs of the church and school. Working with the pastor and the business manager they review the statements of the church and school, and approve the budgets and annual reports.

Women's Council meets each month, September through June. They unite the women of the parish to act in Christian concern for God's people; foster the spiritual, physical, and social growth of the prople of God; and share the responsibility of stewardship in the Cathedral parish. The women plan parish events, assist the poor, and assist the parish community.

Peter's Presents makes Christmas a special time for families in need. Presents, gift certificates, and food are provided for the less fortunate families at Christmas time. Items are then delivered to the deserving families designated by GECAC on behalf of the Cathedral parish.

Crop Walk is held each year in September to raise awareness of those in poverty. The Cathedral parish joins this effort to relieve hunger in Erie and throughout the world.

Downtown Apartment Ministry Lectors and Eucharistic ministers lead Communion Services at the four Senior Citizen Apartment complexes on Sunday mornings at 10:15 AM. Each building is visited once a month. In addition, the Liturgy or Communion Services are held monthly at the downtown apartments on a weekday, usually Thursdays. A parish priest will come to the apartment building periodically throughout the year for the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.
