Looking Back...
Wayne Dibert remembers the Pennsy in Renovo:
The yellow building (see William Russell's photo on Renovo page) is the hump office and operations; it had the yardmaster and trainmaster in there. I remember because my grandfather took my brother and I in there, then we got to play on some N-5 Cabooses and ride in an RSD-11 I believe. I can remember it as if it was today. That was sometime in 1959 or 1960. Steam was done then. I do remember those steam engines working that yard though. I sat on a porch right across the street from that hump and watched the trains all day. What an awesome sight. I hated it when a train pulled in on track three though. It blocked all the hump operation and I had to wait till they cut the train to hump it before I could watch the operation again.
