Our site contains hyperlinks to other websites operated by third parties. These links will take you away from our site. The Erie Times Federal Credit Union does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information presented on these sites. Funds Availability Policy

revised/approved 07-12-2006
Our policy is to make funds deposited at our office, and also any of the Shared Service Center branches nationwide, available to you on the same business day as the deposit. Every day is a business day except Saturday, Sunday and Federal holidays. However, a member may make a deposit at a Shared Service Center that has weekend or holiday hours, and that deposit will be available through that branch immediately.
The credit union will notify the member if there is a delay in funds availability, and will inform the member when the funds will be available.
Requests which fall outside of the policy guidelines will require Board review, and may not be done without Board approval.
The credit union may hold funds for up to 5 days under the following circumstances:
  • The credit union suffers an emergency, such as a failure of communications or computer equipment.
  • The member's share draft account has been overdrawn repeatedly in the last six months.
  • The member is re-depositing a check that has previously been returned unpaid.
  • The credit union has a reason to question a check that the member is depositing. For example: a personal, or out of town check.
For purpose of the debit card system only:
  • Deposits made by 11:00 a.m. will be available after 4:00 p.m. that day. Any deposits made after 11:00 a.m. will NOT be available until the following business day at 4:00 p.m.
  • There are no pre-set limits on point of sale purchases.
  • Withdrawals from cash dispensing machines are limited to 8 transactions totaling no more than $999.00 per business day. Friday through Sunday is considered 1 business day.
  • Although all debit card transactions post to the member's share draft account, the debit system will show an aggregate total available for both the share savings and share draft.
  • Some debit card transactions may not post to the member's share draft account until two business days later.
This policy is subject to review and revision by the Board of Directors. Terms and conditions may be altered in whole or in part by the action of the Board of Directors, following government guidelines.
