Miscellaneous Notes From Daniel And Revelation
Absalom As A Type Of Antichrist

2 Sam 18:18 During his lifetime Absalom had taken a pillar and erected it in the King's Valley as a monument to himself, for he thought, "I have no son to carry on the memory of my name." He named the pillar after himself, and it is called Absalom's Monument to this day.

The Kidron Valley (Valley of the Kings)

The Kidron Valley descends from the foot of Mount Scopus, separating the Mount Of Olives and the old city of Jerusalem. It then continues as a canyon through the Judean desert, finally emerging at the Dead Sea. On the Mount of Olives slope of the Valley lies one of the sacred burial ground of the Jewish people, going back to the days of King Solomon. On this slope is found "Absalom's pillar" and the tomb of Zachariah. The area of Kidron Valley between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives is called Valley of Jehosafat, which Joel 3:1-2 prophesied would be the site of God's judgement of humanity at the end of the age. Since Solomon's days, many - jews and early Christians - wanted to be buried here because they believed this would be where the resurrection of the dead, the last judgement and the second coming of the Messiah wuld take place.
