Solid modeling can be used for the designing of 3D sheet metal parts, enclosures
and stampings. It is used for visualization, engineering, assembly prototyping, computer aided manufacturing and
CAD documentation. Shown above is a sample 3D solid sheet metal part we designed for fabrication. The
flat pattern development will appear when moving your cursor over the solid
model. The flat pattern was computer generated automatically from the 3D model after entering
in the material type, thickness and bend radius. The model geometry can easily be changed
to facilitate redesign, part revisions, or for creating families of similar sheet metal parts
that have like shapes but with different proportions. The flat development will update automatically
to these changes and additions easily by the designer. Our drawings are generated off
the models for faster and more accurate designs for our customers.
