Celebrating 31 years
of bringing music to the entire community
WHEREAS … Bruce Morton Wright later attended the Vienna Conservatory of Music in Vienna, Austria and then conducted in Vienna and in Bogota, Colombia; and
WHEREAS … Bruce Morton Wright returned to Erie in 1978; and
WHEREAS … Bruce Morton Wright formed the Bayfront Orchestra in 1978 which later became the ERIE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA, and as a result of its formation also formed the ERIE OPERA THEATRE in 1983; and
WHEREAS … Bruce Morton Wright has been a leading force in providing free classical music concerts to the people of Erie, and he has encouraged the youth of the City of Erie to attend these concerts and to appreciate classical music, and
WHEREAS … Bruce Morton Wright has remembered his roots, has invested his art and life work in improving the quality of life in the City of Erie, and has served as a role model to youth of all backgrounds; and
WHEREAS …Bruce Morton Wright, through touched by fame, has maintained his integrity, truthfulness and honesty with no regard for personal gain, has been a loving husband, father and son who instilled love for the arts in his children; has willing worked for and been most generous to the musicians who play for him; and above all, has been a concerned and loving friend to the people of this city; and
WHEREAS …in addition to his intense endeavors on behalf of live, free and accessible music for the people of Erie, he has also devoted himself to the betterment of the quality of life in this city through his generous volunteer efforts,
NOW THEREFORE, I, Joyce A. Savocchio, Mayor of the Flagship City in Pennsylvania, do hereby congratulate Bruce Morton Wright on the occasion of the Opening Night of the 20th season of the ERIE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA. The citizens of Erie join me in extending sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
